In the Empire Strikes Back, Darth Vader forces Lando Calrissian to help capture Han Solo, who becomes sealed in carbonite for delivery to Jabba the Hutt. Carbonite was a metal alloy which was produced from carbon, being mixed with tibanna gas, compressed, and flash-frozen into blocks for transportation. One reason that Darth used this method on Hans was to see if it really worked on humans, which was finally confirmed by the turn of events in The Return of the Jedi.
There are a few items out there (ice cube trays is an easy one to imagine) that recapture this pivotal development in the Star Wars Trilogy, but one of the most creative is this 8-pack of colorful crayons available on Etsy from extramoneyformommy. They are made from… get this– Crayola crayons – and come in purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, red, brown, and black. Each piece is encased in bubble wrap when shipped and the feedback on the product page attests to their good quality.
These imaginative crayons are prefer for the youngster in your live who is a Star Wars fan, or anyone with an inclination towards art and is old enough to remember seeing the movie in a theater. One small complaint though: why is there no grey version included?
